Top » Typical Lesson Flow
Firstly, the student conducts a search to find a tutor (or a course) using the "Tutor Search System" or"TSS" at Cafetalk. She or he can browse through a range of tutors (or courses) and select one or a few that best suit his or her needs. Therefore, it's important for tutors to make an attractive profile with fun courses, to highlight your skills, experiences, backgrounds, strengths and interests. Feel free to contact us if you need any help!! Click here to view a sample tutor profile.
Once the student has successfully found the tutor or the lesson that best fits his or her needs, they can make a request by specifying up to three date & time options chosen from the hours which you specified in your profile, through the "Lesson Management System" or "LMS" at Cafetalk. The student may also include a message for the tutor regarding the lesson, such as a self-introduction, needs, and requests for the lesson. "LMS" will send a request notice to you.
The request can be automatically cancelled within the time limit that the student sets if the tutor cannot confirm the lesson. Normally, it will be between 24 and 72 hours. If the date & time options that the student specifies do not fit in with your schedule, you can reply to him or her with alternative proposals.
As you can see, it's important for tutors to quickly reply to the student.
The tutor can confirm the schedule and reply to the student through the Cafetalk "Lesson Management System". "LMS" will send a confirmation notice to you about the lesson request. It's preferred that you ask your student some questions which will help you to prepare the lesson for them. Also, you can send lesson materials through the Cafetalk "Lesson Management System" ("LMS"). In some cases, the lesson schedule can be changed upon the request of the student or the tutor. It's not necessary to cancel the lesson but just change the schedule through Cafetalk Lesson Management, once both the student and tutor agree with on a new schedule. "LMS" will send a lesson reminder 24 hours before the lesson. Please understand that there may be time differences between the student and the tutor. Therefore, please be careful when you confirm the lesson for your student.
The tutor and student will conduct the lesson at the scheduled date & time. When it's time to start the lesson, the tutor simply calls the student via Skype. Most lessons are one-on-one, but some students may request group lessons. Both can be accommodated using our system. It's highly recommended to send a thank-you email and a review to your student at the end of the lesson.
